Aroha - The Legacy Of Love

Aroha is the Maori word for Love.  It is similar to the Hawaiian word Aloha and refers to the fullness of love.   The greater our love, the greater our light, the greater our capacity as conscious creators.  As we grow our light through the fullness of  love, we grow our capacity to move beyond conflict and war.  This is the same wisdom found in other ancient cultures.  This is Aroha - The Legacy Of Love. 

Ruth Makuini Tai My name is Ruth Makuini Tai and I am passionate about nature, humanity and the  Maori language.  I am from Aotearoa New Zealand, an island paradise in the south pacific ocean. Aotearoa is usually translated as ‘land of ‘the long white cloud’.  However Aotearoa also means ‘the eternal light’.  

The original Maori orators left a legacy of love within a language of light teachings. I grew up knowing my language was one of greatness, as expressed in the term Reo Rangatira.  We are often reminded to always hold fast to the language, to not let it be lost.  My commitment to this has been to explore the root words and their sound origins. What I find is each word holds a story. Each story relates deeply to our human origins from light and our immense potential as light beings and human beings. As Maori we remind ourselves of this by proclaiming ”He Atua, He Tangata!”  

Modern science now understands that we are electrical beings.  As Maori we know ourselves as nga tama a rangi - the children of light.  Whaia te maramatanga means to follow enlightenment.  For a time I like most, was taught that enlightenment is achieved by attending university.  My quest through an Education For Life process has taught me otherwise.  Click on the following links to read more about my quest at:

  • am a spirit trail guide for sacred journeys
  • speak when invited as a guest speaker at human potential and earth care events.
  • initiate welcome ceremony for these events. 

My purpose for creating this website is to present Aroha - The Legacy Of Love and the Language Of Light teachings of the Ancient Maori.  The essence of my work is about helping people to activate and grow their own Aroha Insights and pass the legacy forward.  This means opening our hearts to embrace more light, to become more conscious.  World peace is as challenging and as simple as that.
