Education For Life
![]() |
I have long held a strong interest in human origins and human potential. I taught in Hamilton schools and in 1990 completed lecturing at the Hamilton Teacher’s Training College (now the School of Education at Waikato University). My belief in Education For Life led me on a quest away from the state defined education systems. |
After resigning I expanded my education for life. I returned to learn more from nature and to initiate my own enterprise. To further my professional experience, I attended training programmes presented by world leaders. From 1991 to 1994 I was introduced to entrepreneurship, quantum science and super learning through The Excellerated Learning Institute. This meant I attended instructor schools in Australia and the USA. The main instructor was the entrepreneur teacher Robert Kiyosaki. At the same time I explored Sacred Psychology, Social Artistry and Whole Learning with Dr Jean Houston and Peggy Rubin, attending their programmes in New Zealand and Australia. On their last visit to New Zealand in 1998 I was asked to join them on their two week tour called ‘Our Nation’s Promise’. During the same period I also completed a four year study of The Science of Reiki alongside Randall Hayward a Reiki Grand Master. His background in science, mathematics, music and aromatherapy furthered my interest in quantum science. I am deeply indebted to some of these great teachers for the friendship and scholarship support they gifted.
In 1996 I began learning alongside another group of international teachers. I became an ardent supporter of permaculture earth care through the work of Joe Polaischer and Trish Allen. In May 2000 I completed the Permaculture Design Course with Joe. The next year I met Don Tolman whose work with self care and self education touched a deep chord. Don’s research into whole learning was amongst the most exciting I had come across. He returned to New Zealand in 2006 and presented his research into the light intelligence captured in the food we eat. This sparked in me a stronger commitment to take responsibility for my own self care. When I met Dr Elisabet Sahtouris I became excited with her research as an Evolutionary Biologist and Futurist. Dr Sahtouris uses nature’s principles and practice, revealed in biological evolution, as useful models for organizational change. At the same time I met Claude Lewenz and began creating empowering resources, to help people take ownership of the new village design and implementation process.
While pursuing these studies I grew my entrepreneurial spirit and kept myself funded through publishing, building construction, network marketing and human potential workshop facilitation. My education for life learning programme has not followed the usual academic pathway, yet my insights into the human potential have been deepened in a profound and practical way. Today the internet has opened the doors to a wealth of information enabling anyone to access great teachers, for a fraction of the cost. That’s very exciting.
Today I address international audiences with my own unique expression, of how Maori language and culture has preserved the teachings of light. I also introduce ways in which these practices can be integrated into a modern lifestyle. I combine the timeless wisdom of my ancestors with my skills as an Educator, Systems Analyst and Organic Thinker to help people heal and progress beyond stuck-ness in life and business.
I presented my first event in the USA in 2000 sharing the quantum story of Hine Wainui - Great Water Woman, Great Song Woman, Great Spirit Woman. In 2004 I was certified as an ambassador for peace at the second Mongolian Conference for World Peace held in Korea. In November/December 2006 I co-presented with Hirini Reedy our first international tour called ‘Haka For Life’ throughout California, USA. I was later invited to speak at the 2006 inaugural Indigenous Grandmothers Gathering on Catalina Island, Los Angeles USA. The theme of the gathering was Wisdom Of Mother Beauty (W.O.M.B). In 2007 I co-hosted a journey in Aotearoa New Zealand with Drunvalo Melchizedek, and in 2008 to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) and Moorea an island of Tahiti. I officiated my first wedding ceremony on the island of Kauai in 2008.
My range of education for life experiences have given me a powerful insight into the human capacity. Today I dedicate my life to not only help others remember that they are indeed “seeds of greatness”, but to also provide them with access to people or networks where they can interact and feel “welcome and at home”.
